Citizens’ Climate Lobby – Practical climate policy.
Citizens’ Climate Lobby (and its State College Chapter) exists to rally the nation around putting a price on carbon. A simple market-based solution can put money in your pocket and benefit the economy. Best of all, experts agree a price on carbon will drop emissions fast. The bill we support HR 2307, the Energy Innovation and Carbon Dividend Act is now before Congress and would bring this policy into reality. It would reduce emissions 50% by 2030, putting us on track to reach net zero by 2050. It would help provide affordable clean energy and save lives by reducing dangerous pollution.
Citizens’ Climate Lobby, State College Chapter builds relationships in State College, in surrounding Centre County, and in Congress to promote pricing carbon as the first step in solving the climate crisis. To do this, we write letters and articles in local newspapers, organize public lectures, encourage citizens to write and call Congress, build relationships with Penn State and local business leaders, and more.
